Expert Figure Skating Coach

Janet Johnson grew up in Los Angeles, where she trained with legendary coaches including Frank Carroll, Betty Berens, and Ronny Robertson, building a strong technical and artistic foundation that shaped her approach to coaching. She was a top competitor becoming a double USFS Gold Test Medalist before performing professionally with Holiday on Ice, Ice Champions, the Peggy Fleming production in Reno, Nevada, and in Atami, Japan. Janet later transitioned into coaching, bringing her international experience—including coaching in Copenhagen, Denmark—to her work at Kendall Ice Arena (now Miami Ice Arena), where she has been a valued member of the coaching staff for many years. She is especially known for her expertise in U.S. Figure Skating test preparation, with students successfully passing tests through Gold Freeskating and Skating Skills, and for her exceptional ability to select and edit music that highlights each skater’s strengths and elevates their performance.
